Abstract

This text aims to determine the modeling function of documentary in Zlatko Topčić play “Ničiji svačiji” (2017). Following the relevant theories of drama, the paper assumes that the theme, based on the facsimile of the document in the legal statement, served as the context and source, of the semantic meanings, of the events presented in the text. The analysis of the documentary background of the drama, tells the process of explaining the “legal scenario” to accusations, as the broadest semantic framework of the work, as well as the metaphorical variables of experience in fiction and reality, through the views and actions of the main characters. The present aspects of memory and realistic expression in the perception of the characters, as well as specific procedures in dealing with the central dramatic problem, are presented with a tendency to force questions, about the justification of war and the crime committed. Oscillations in the variables of self-awareness of the act of murder and the final realization of guilt, in the psychological profiling of the central dramatic characters, assumes proportions of complete insensitivity within the psychological deviations of the individual. The course of the dramatic action, conceived in a realistic and retrospective process, reveals the levels of unconscious and unexpected action of the main characters, as well as the roles played by individual supporting characters as witnesses. The semiotic analysis of the processes underlying the communication within the aforementioned work has shown that this dramatic problem, in its gradational dynamics, culminates and is presented as a very complex system of reciprocal-consequential events, at multiple levels. The documentary background, on which the textual plot is based, clashes in the precision of the information offered and available, which enhances the dynamism of the drama, as well as the central conflict within it. A central point of significance is presented as a complex discussion based on the evidence present and related to the central dramatic problem. The complex structure of the universal, globally present theme of war and the tragic consequences of disasters materializes the multidimensional code of meaning and becomes its inevitable, universal component
