These textbooks are used in the teaching-learning practice in the beginning grades in 2017/2018 school year. One of the important sections of mathematics content in the first grade is the mastery of the concepts of natural numbers to 10. In theory and practice, the mathematical basis for the formation of this knowledge as well as the relevant methodology have long been established. In the comparative study carried out in the analyzed 9 textbooks of mathematics of different authors’ groups, the presence or absence of elements of the curriculum related to the theory and methodology were registered. On this basis, the advantages and disadvantages of each textbook are derived. The textbooks that are subject to research are the following: RIVA Publishing House, authors L. Alexieva and M. Varbanova, Anubis Publishing House, authors T. Vitanov, G. Kirova, Z. Sharkova, I. Pushkarova and D. Parusheva, Way of life and Technique Publishing House, Authors T. Valkova, T. Momcheva, R. Stoyanova and P. Daskova. The indicators, according to which the textbooks are compared, are related to the availability of components in the development of one topic for a number to 10 (lesson for new knowledge). First of all, this is a plot picture containing 2 or more sets of the elements corresponding to the new number. The second element is the availability of illustrative material for introducing the new number on an axiomatic basis (n + 1). The third element is an illustrative material for introducing the numerical meaning of the number. The fourth component is the presence of an illustrative material about the meaning of a number as a relation between a unit of measure and a measured value (units of measure). In the developed textbooks, tasks are searched for comparing the new number and the numbers previously studied, for the order of the studied numbers. An important indicator in the analysis is the existence of a task to determine the quantitative value of the new number by coloring (striking, enclosing) the corresponding number of elements of the displayed more elements. On the basis of this comparative analysis, conclusions were drawn regarding the qualities of the developed curriculum in the nine textbooks in mathematics for the first grade in forming a concept for a number of up to 10.</p>}, number={1}, journal={KNOWLEDGE - International Journal }, author={Kirova, Gabriela}, year={2017}, month={Dec.}, pages={343–346} }
