FEATURES OF THE SEMANTIC FIELD FOR NAMING THE TIMES OF THE YEAR (ACCORDING TO THE DICTIONARY OF THE BULGARIAN LANGUAGE BY NAYDEN GEROV)

Abstract

The names of the times of the year have always been of interest from various linguistic points of view - in terms of their etymology, synonymous names, the meaningful relations between the lexes, a comparative study with the names in other Slavic languages. The article discusses some peculiarities of the relations between the lexes in the semantic field of the times of the year. Attention is drawn to missing members in the field and an attempt is made to clarify the reasons for this lack, based on more general linguistic development trends.
