Abstract

It was expected that digital technology would solve the educational crisis caused by the conflict of traditional teaching and the demands of the new age. Indeed, distance learning, through the use of the internet, satisfies a range of needs for the first time by ensuring greater accessibility and flexibility of education as well as individualized and active learning. Nevertheless, experience has shown that technology alone is not enough. The purpose of this paper is to indicate the need of fulfilling two conditions: for schools to have adequate IT equipment and for teachers to be familiar with the opportunities provided by information and communication technology and to be able to use those opportunities effectively. The changes in the organization and realization of the educational process clearly reflect the capacity of the educational system to deal with the current challenges. The results of the analysis showed that the solutions are in the interdisciplinary approach that will indicate the advantages of digital literacy, but also in the limitations that every teacher should consider.
