Abstract

The paper describes the application of the intelligent human-computer interaction (HCI) as a tool to support the rehabilitation therapy of patients, prevention of addictions, integration of people with disabilities in society. HCI is a set of input-output devices through which the interaction between a person and a computer takes place. Efforts are being made to bring it much closer to natural communication between individuals. It is necessary to divide the target groups according to their need for this type of new communication. The existing technologies, devices and software providing human-computer communication are considered. Intelligent HCI is divided into several more general groups depending on the technology of detection of symbols and signals and these are: optical (computer vision), acoustic (sound), bionic (brain waves, neural signals), tactile (sensory) and motion based. Of these conditional groups, the least popular among the mass consumer is the bionic, which has so far been used mainly of an experimental nature or in limited areas of production and medicine. That is why it is of interest for research and its implementation in this type of users and can be attributed to the technologies of the future. Research in the field of brain-computer interface (BCI), which is a division of HCI and uses bionic technology, gives great hope to people with special needs to regain their independence not only in communicating with others but also in fulfilling various everyday needs. At the end of the paper a brief systematization of the described technologies and devices is made and they are grouped by different indicators: ergonomics, reliability, fast action, influence of external factors, mobility, price, from which an analysis of their significance for real use can be performed for certain groups of people and whether this will contribute positively to their recovery, prevention of diseases, addictions and disability, as well as to their social integration. Their efficiency, effectiveness and applicability are assessed from the point of view of the assessment of health technologies, as a tool for undertaking and implementing positive health policy actions.
