THE SPECIFICITIES OF ALBANIAN CHILDREN'S LITERATURE OF THE XIX CENTURY: PEDAGOGICAL AND AESTHETIC REQUIREMENTS AND PRINCIPLES

Abstract

Art is not written according to rules. Literary text has no limitations and ways of writing. However, literature for children still has specifics that burden the writer against the most important factor in the act of writing itself, the reader. In Albanian literature, the period of the 19th century is covered by significant historical events. These circumstances will have an impact on the way the literary text is shaped. The paper aims to present and analyze a literary creation that has didactic elements, something that is in contradiction with the modern concept of literature as an art in general. The works from this period were mostly written with the intention of being used as school texts. This element encourages us to seek and underline what is aesthetic. That is, by giving a description of the pedagogical requirements for children's literature, examples will be illustrated in which a clear picture of symbiosis with the artistic and aesthetic will be given. Specifically, in the applicative part of the paper, examples from the literary works of this period will be given, including: Kostandin Kristoforidhi, Naim Frashëri, Sami Frashëri, etc.
