Abstract

The paper presents a theoretical analysis of the application of coaching in education. It reviews the
experience of the USA and so-called instructional coaching, where an expert teacher helps the teacher in the
classroom focus on the application of a specific teaching technique. In the United Kingdom, the application of
coaching was marked by the publishing of the National Strategy brochure in 2003, where the goal was to broaden
the toolkit available to class teachers in order to achieve continuous improvement. The Growth Coaching
International framework, based in Australia, was developed later. It aims to unite the best practices in order to
encourage the continuous growth and development of coaching and mentorship in the educational environment; to
assist academic studies in the area of coaching and mentorship in education; to provide practical benefits to
educational leaders, teachers, and students. The term used in Russia is pedagogical coaching as a specific technology
of a subject – the subjective relations between the teacher and the students. The goal is to inspire and active the
student’s potential that will let them actively realize their desired goals, to develop their personal potential in order
to find solutions to the assigned tasks and achieve success.
