THE MOTIVATION OF HEALTH CARE MANAGERS FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND QUALIFICATION DEVELOPMENT

In the overall health care system, health care is an essential factor. Their role is expressd in the continuous care of patient as a determining factor for the effectiveness of medical care. Health care facilities that operate in a competitive and market economy require new knowledge and skills on the part of health care managers that are relevant to the needs of society. This is a condition for economic stability and sustainable development of medical institutions. The main aspects for the development of the management staff, as a condition for improving the quality of health care, is their motivation for professional development and for raising their qualification. Motivation is a driving force when we went to achieve certain goals, which includes targeted behavior and requires a connection between actions and results. Motivation is associated with consistency in behavior and a desire to be ready to perform a certain activity, it also stimulates the individual in his efforts to achieve certain goals
The aim of the present study is to establish the extent to which health care managers are motivated to increase their professional development and qualification and to achieve a quality health care process.
Material and method: The object of study is the motivation of health care managers to improve their skills, as well as their professional development in hospitals. Their motivation and desire for professional development and professional development, as a condition for the quality of health care, and patient satisfaction were studied. The study was conducted in 2019 in four hospitals. A sociological method of research was used, which is based on a direct individual survey among health care managers. A total of 60 health care managers were interviewed. The analysis of the results of the survey on the motivation of managers regarding their professional development and qualification is aimed at the application of modern management methods, to improve the organization of work and the quality of health care. The main aspects in the analysis of the survey data are the extent to which managers are motivated to improve their skills and to acquire new knowledge and competencies in order to provide quality health care.
Results: From the obtained results it is clear that the managers need additional training in the field of health care management, as the professional experience and the acquired educational degree are of great importance. The surveyed managers are sufficiently motivated to increase their qualification and professional growth and development. The motivation of managers for professional growth and professional development will lead to an increase in the quality of health care.
