Abstract

The aim of the study was to show the safety and efficacy of ALLERACT as a tocolytic agent. A wide range of tocolytics are used in obstetric practice. Magnesia is gaining popularity due to its oral use, the presence of a rapid and long-lasting effect, few maternal side effects and low cost. Material and methods: The study included 80 pregnant patients diagnosed with preterm birth. The inclusion criteria are: gestational age 24-34 years, uterine contractions every 10-15 minutes, singleton pregnancy, no contraindications for tocolysis. Alerract 500mg was administered to all patients on a schedule. The clinical response, gestational age and side effects were studied and analyzed. Results: The study included 80 pregnant patients. Three of them were excluded due to the patients' refusal to take the drug. Of the remaining 77 pregnant women, nine had uterine contractions continued regardless of treatment. In the remaining 67 births are brought to 7 days in 60 of them. The most common side effects were hypotension, headache, dizziness, which disappeared soon after the initial dose. Conclusion: Alerract is an effective tocolytic with few maternal side effects
