Abstract

The Covid 19 pandemic virus infection that has spread worldwide is one of the deadliest infections humanity has ever encountered. In Bulgaria, the covid infection began to spread in early 2020. The pandemic has put healthcare to a serious test in terms of the organization of health care and its quality. New challenges have emerged for healthcare professionals in providing quality healthcare to patients with Covid-19. In the overall complex of activities in medical care, health care is a very important and essential part of the patient’s treatment. In modern nursing science, one of the requirements for the quality of health care is that the nurse can independently assess the condition and needs of the patient. She must make informed decisions related to certain responsibilities, and the effectiveness of treatment and patient satisfaction depend on her professional competence. The rapid spread of the infection from person to person through airborne droplets or hand-to-hand contact has dramatically increased the number of cases. The clinical symptoms of the disease are fever, dry cough, runny nose, headache, sore throat and more. Along with all the symptoms, this infection is associated with a high percentage of thrombotic complications. This is determined both by a violation of blood clotting and by direct involvement of the virus of the endothelium – the inner lining of the vascular walls. Symptoms and their manifestations range from blockages in various arteries and veins to affecting the smallest vessels, such as capillaries. Common consequences of Covid 19 are deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary thromboembolism. The following are complications of the arterial system, which according to the localization manifest as myocardial infarction, stroke or acute ischemia of the limbs. The disease also affects the ability to work, social life and mental state of patients.
The goal of the present study is to examine the health care of patients with deep vein thrombosis who have had Covid 19 in terms of treatment duration, diet and exercise, necessary laboratory tests and prophylactic examinations.
Material and method: A survey of 76 patients was conducted in two hospitals in the period January-March 2022.
The results of the study emphasize the need for strict adherence to prescriptions for treatment and prevention of Covid 19, as a condition for limiting the consequences and preventing complications in patients with phlebothrombosis.
