The Corona virus pandemic has stopped the world. Everything changed. Work and life On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared a pandemic of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS - CoV 2) that causes coronavirus disease (COVID - 19). The virus after spreading to the city of Wuhan (PRC) manages to spread across all meridians in a very short time, so that according to data from April 10, 2020 at 10 pm, the total number of infected in over 213 countries is 1,524,161, the number of deaths climbed to 92,941 with over 310,000 healed. A state of emergency has been introduced in many countries, freedom of movement has been restricted, "social distance" has been called for in order to avoid unnecessary contacts with potentially infected people, etc. It is a well-known fact that the scientific world, for now, does not have an adequate response to solving the problem of treatment of COVID-19 diseases. The danger to the health and life of the world's population is omnipresent, and the consequences of this virus will be felt long after the end of the pandemic, both in terms of health and economy, and in terms of continuing life filled with fear of virus return and fear of pure existence. It is really too ambitious at the moment to make any assessments and comments about the return to the level of quality of life as it was before the appearance of the SARS - CoV 2 virus. The corona virus pandemic will change a lot in the world, not to mention the heavy blow inflicted on the economy. It is time for a new approach to various segments of life, and due to this and similar crises in the future, medical and infectious waste will have to be treated much more carefully. According to the latest information, Serbia and other countries in the region have a long way to go to improve the system so that people are safe and the environment is protected.
