Abstract

Intensive care is an expensive medical procedure or third, fourth and fifth level of health care, which is performed on the sick patient after completion of resuscitation and re-establishment of cardiac arrest, severe trauma, more complex surgery and unconscious situation of the patient, in specially equipped wards - in hospital wards and emergency medicine clinics.
Modern intensive care deals with the treatment of the most severe patients or "critical conditions in which life is in danger and those who are currently stabilizing vital functions but can deteriorate at any time. Such severe patients require continuous monitoring, care Intensive care is implemented in intensive care units where it has specially trained experts, who during their work use specialized equipment for continuous monitoring of many physical factors.Nurses have an important role in care and treatment to the sick patients, especially to the sick in the intensive care unit, because there is a need for more attention and full commitment, as well as great professionalism in the role of their activity.
