Abstract

For a long time in the modern world, women have had the right to political engagement. However, due to
traditional, family and religious indicators that determine her socio-economic status, she does not fully realize this
right in real life. Therefore, in this paper we want to try to answer three key questions: (1) Do women in Bosnia and
Herzegovina really enjoy political rights and in what proportion? (2) Is she at all and to what extent interested in
participating in the creation of the political future of her own country? (3) How much are women in Bosnia and
Herzegovina objectively able to do with regard to their social environment and social status? Our intention is to
analyze the current situation regarding the political engagement of women in the period from 2008. to 2018. By
comparing the status in these two reference years, we will try to find out about the progress regarding this problem
in Bosnian society.
