FAMILY VIOLENCE WITH REFERENCE TO LEGAL PROTECTION - MONTENEGRO OPPORTUNITIES

Domestic violence is behavior by which one family member endangers the physical integrity, mental
health, or tranquility of another family member. Domestic violence is a problem that is encountered in all nations
and by all types of individuals, regardless of their culture, race, ethnicity, religious or political beliefs, social and
economic status, or gender.
The recognition of domestic violence, as well as the comprehension and registration of this offence, varies from
nation to nation. Research has shown that in the United States and Great Britain, only one-third of domestic violence
cases are reported to the police (Tjaden et al., 2000).
Domestic violence and other forms of gender-based violence are a serious problem for every society. It is about
different forms of physical, psychological and otherwise manifested of violence, which endangers the life and body
of the victim, which violates the basic human rights of man.
