DEPENDENCE ON DIGITAL DEVICES AT THE INDIVIDUAL LEVEL IN BULGARIA

Abstract

The publication is devoted to the examination of the extent of development of the process of digitalization
and research on the presence of dependence on digital devices among Bulgarian citizens. Digitization or digitization
is the process of transforming information into digital format and this process is ubiquitous. It is a fundamental
mechanism of the 21st century and an increasingly indispensable part of the way of life, which makes it necessary to
do more and more research in this direction. Technology is playing an ever-increasing role in everyone's daily lives,
and often the scale of dependence on technology is not even realized. This also affects topics related to the negative
consequences of excessive use of mobile devices. The results presented are part of a larger study on the topic, but
include issues directly related to the aspects under consideration. The aim is to empirically investigate attitudes
towards digitalization and related core processes affecting personal and professional relationships. Results show
high popularity, widespread use and strong dependence towards digital devices in all age groups considered.
However, this is liked by people and does not lead to any concerns for them because digital technology facilitates
everyday personal processes in people's lives in various aspects
