THE ROLE OF THE TECHNOLOGY IN ADOPTION OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

This paper aims to highlight the role of modern technology in the process of learning and acquisition of the English language. The framework of this paper covers many different approaches and techniques that can serve as tools for students to improve their knowledge and skills in the process of teaching and learning the English language. Among the important technologies that we will elaborate on in detail in the text below, it can be mention the online websites for independent study of the English language, computer aided programs for learning English, presentation software, electronic dictionaries available in various formats, services for electronic communication, multimedia devices and specially prepared videos for learning English that contain computer animated content. This paper aims to cover most of the modern technologies that are used widely today in the world for teaching and learning the English language. Besides analyzing the practical impact of technology in the classroom and in the process of teaching and learning the English language by students, as part of this paper an attempt was made to ascertain and diagnose possible gaps and limitations of existing conventional technologies for learning English language.
