Abstract

Social relations within the family, socioeconomic status and family structure are often associated in the literature with different levels of student achievement. Family dysfunction can often be the cause of deviant behavior of young people who generally have a repulsive attitude towards school and school obligations. Juvenile delinquents perceive school more as a training ground for presenting their associated patterns of behavior than as a place to acquire knowledge and adopt a positive value system. The structure and dysfunction of the family can often be one of the causes of such an attitude towards school, but also deviant behavior in general. Precisely this paper aims to determine how much the family structure of juvenile delinquents affects their school achievement and behavior in school, ie. whether students, juvenile delinquents, who come from incomplete families have lower school achievement than their peers who come from complete families
