The economy and the development of the world are at a crossroads. Key components and decades of
traditions are changing before our eyes. Looking around today and putting our thoughts back a decade, we can feel
the differences in our lives. The headline change was imposed by information and communication technologies,
which were reinforced beyond recognition year after year.
This research is an attempt to present on the one hand the concept and usefulness of the smart city and, on the other
hand, through the good practices and examples brought out, to draw readers' attention to the unaltered benefits of
their applications.
