Abstract

What do teachers need to do to continuously raise the prestige of the profession? The answer to this question is largely related to the individual image of each teacher, because the general image of each profession is formed as a result of the isolation in the public mind of the typical characteristics of its representatives. The article examines the problem of the formation of the teacher's image in the theory of psychological and pedagogical science. Very few young people are ready to practice the teaching profession and deal with the younger generation. Young teachers are not only a reserve for the future, but also a target audience for innovative school programs. Teachers are those people who are always in the public eye, and next to them are inevitably students, colleagues and parents. Knowledge can be forgotten, but not the image of the teacher. The teacher promotes learning, manages resources in the classroom, motivates and guides students in the process of acquiring knowledge, skills, competences and all these represent the key elements of pedagogical behavior. The teacher educator in the modern education system sets goals, manages, organizes and builds relationships with all members of the school community. The purpose of this article is to present precisely the image of the teacher in modern pedagogical education, emphasizing the impact that teachers have on the learning and development of students. The elements of the image acquire the meaning of the symbols of the given person, and their meaning is not limited to the reflection of the appearance, but becomes an integral part of the character and individuality of the person, forms the attitude of other people towards him. To a large extent, the image of a person depends on how he will be perceived by his surroundings. Common scientific methods of research such as summarizing pedagogical experience, asking questions, method of systematic analysis and analytical review were used. In recent years, pedagogical image and pedagogical leadership have been an important feature of many reforms in the educational environment, but also an important area of scientific research. Therefore, the main emphasis of this article is to emphasize the importance of the teacher’s image in the pedagogical science of modern education. The main goal of the educational system is to form professional competences in the future teaching staff, as the image of the teacher and his pedagogical management are key foundations of modern education and concepts of great importance in pedagogy.
