Keywords:
degree, adjunct, realization, syntactic structure, functionAbstract
Тhe main focus in this research paper would be on the differences as well as the similarities of the structures and the function of the degree adjuncts between English and Albanian language. The focus would be especially directed toward the Albanian counterparts of the English degree adjuncts since in Albanian language there are no degree adjuncts as a specific group but they are classified as parts of quantity adjuncts.
On the other hand, in English language the degree adjuncts are not just classified as a group but they are also further subdivided and explained in detail.
The comparative method is the main research method used in this paper, since the nature of such research requires for this material to be compared in order to highlight the differences as well as the similarities that would eventually appear between these two languages. The descriptive method is also used to describe the language phenomena which is the subject of this research. The describtion of grammatical units in this paper is based on accordance with the modern world grammarians. The survey method is another form of research that helped to classify, compare and analyze the material, thus comming to a conclussion.
The differences as well as the the similarities that came out of this paper gives as a strong believe that the syntactic forms and structures achieved in one language through specific grammar tools can be reached by other grammar tools in the other language.
