Abstract

Numerous organizations and media outlets have been tracking public opinion on gun control in the United States of America for more than twenty years. Over the last twenty years there have been various proposals for gun control in the United States of America. The biggest tragedies are school shootings, concerts, public gatherings, parades and religious gatherings that stir up and divide public opinion. Despite this, there is an increase in such developments in countries that take even more drastic measures compared to the United States of America. Gun regulation requires a great deal of room for compromise despite the differing political views of politicians and political parties in the United States of America. In this paper, we will analyze the opinion of gun owners, the consequences of not having control over armed civilians and the sale of weapons without a registry and legal norms that regulate the sale and possession of weapons. The purpose of this paper is to understand the general concern of the American and world public about the problem of the uncontrolled arming of citizens in the United States of America and how this problem is increasing day by day, without any plan to find a concrete solution by the government of United States of America. The dilemma is the regulation and control of weapons in the United States of America and its impact on the real state of this problem in terms of the statistics and the amount of weapons circulating in the United States of America and the victims of these weapons which are largely unregulated. This problem has been running through the history of the United States of America for many years, and the non-governmental organizations and governmental organizations of the United States of America are still divided on this issue and there is no sign of a mutual solution in the near future that would bring both political parties and numerous non-governmental organizations satisfied. This lack of interest and failure to address this problem leads to the fact that the United States of America is the country with the highest number of guns per capital, and consequently the fact that it has the highest gun deaths per capital. The methods used in this paper are literature reviews of statistical data from multiple surveys of various types of organizations, individuals, and instruments in this research are sources published in public publications and research papers of multiple organizations, individuals, and media. Given the scale of gun violence and the frequency of firearm use in the United States of America, there is a critical need to find a solution. Instruments in the research are the secondary sources available in publications and research papers of several organizations and media, as well as review of statistical data from several surveys.
